Pollution

Pollution
About 400 million metric tons of hazardous wastes are generated each year. The United States alone produces about 250 million metric tons.Americans constitute less than 5% of the world's population, but produce about 25% of the world’s CO2, and generate approximately 30% of world’s waste. In 2007, China has overtaken the United States as the world's biggest producer of CO2.In February 2007, a report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, representing the work of 2,500 scientists from more than 130 countries, said that humans have been the primary cause of global warming since 1950.Humans have ways to cut greenhouse gas emissions and avoid the consequences of global warming. But in order to change the climate, the transition from fossil fuels like coal and oil needs to occur within decades.

Sorry this was not supposed to be posed with the "Al-Qaeda revenge attacks".

Al-Qaeda revenge attacks

Al-Qaeda revenge attacks
Al-Qaeda is actively trying to secure nuclear material and recruiting rogue scientists to build a radioactive "dirty" bomb. Al-Qaeda is attempting to stockpile ‘dirty’ radioactive explosives that could be used to target troops or for a larger urban attack. New diplomatic documents released by WikiLeaks show that U.S. intelligence personnel have been informed of terrorist attempts to acquire dangerous amounts of uranium and plutonium. The cables warn of a large trafficking operation of chemical weapons material and threats of a ‘nuclear 9/11’ unless the West intervenes swiftly. As well as causing a large explosion, a "dirty bomb" attack would contaminate the area for many years. Alerts about the smuggling of nuclear material, sent to Washington from foreign US embassies, document how criminal and terrorist gangs were trafficking large amounts of highly radioactive material across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The mastermind of the 9/11 attacks warned that Al-Qaeda has hidden a nuclear bomb in Europe which will unleash a “nuclear storm” if Osama bin Laden is captured or killed. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed told Guantanamo Bay interrogators the terror group would detonate the nuclear device if the Al-Qaeda chief was captured or killed(which never detonated). From what I’ve heard on different news channels is that  Al-Qaeda is planning on hitting high populated areas with low security in the U.S. Al-Qaeda has many followers currently in the U.S. so it wouldn’t be that difficult to create an organized group. This worries me about the future of the US and its people. The news said that law enforcement will begin carrying around rifles rather than pistols and there will be alot more officers in the cities.
